My date with Mickey.

We got free passes for a whole day at all the 4 Disney themeparks thanks to Christy (Jay's daughter) because she worked there.

We spend 12 hours on foot, running around to the different attractions and queuing up waiting our turn. Each wait was at least 10 - 30mins, and the rides took 1 min each and then we were out running about again.

We did our best to catch all the coasters, however halfway through the day it showered, and we bought $7 PONCHOS. $7. For plastic. And the rides were closed because they couldn't operate in the rain. So we ended up on a Nemo ride.

It was, cute.

Stepping into DisneyLand after 20 years was really quite something. As I saw the castle again after such a long time, i felt something inside stirring, like a little kid who couldn't get her eyes off it. Then there was the Dumbo ride, and Peter Pen, and Its A Small World, and the Spinning Tea Cups, and the car ride my little brother sat! It felt so weird walking through all that, with a slight sickening feeling of mortality creeping up from behind :/ I nearly cried watching the fireworks over Cinderella's castle. One of those weird spaces where you feel nothing at all has changed (the eternity of magic and dreams), and yet everything has and will. I almost feel sick thinking that the next time I'll be there it'll be with my kids. And i'll be 10 years older. Sigh.

We ended up having Fish and Chips there, from Harry Ramsden! After the fireworks, it started pouring again, and everyone was soaked, and tired. But I totally loved my experience there again, and I'm glad I had a chance to go there. One thing that was so valuable, was taking in how they ran such a bloody darn big park (in fact, 4), and their amazing ability to keep the logistics in place, the systems running, and the magical service and experience. That's definitely something to learn from.

Orlando: Pot with Jay

We arrived yesterday night after a grueling 24 hour flight that was probably the worst flight experience of my life. But that's over, and all made better by the beautiful storm clouds and thunderbolts that shot through the gloomy Orlando sky.
Sexy.

Highlight #1: We rented a Maxima and installed a GPRS system. Cool shit. My first ever, and probably not my last. Its so effective, only it makes you dumb at reading maps. But that's ok. When I'm old a GPRS would make easy maneuvering with my wheelchair compared to fumbling around with a map for directions to the nearest restroom.

Highlight #2: All-you-can-eat CRAB LEGS for only $20 at our very own Best Western restaurant!
Only... they ran out.
So we made a trip to CHICK-FIL-A and I tell you, I met paradise on earth. Juicy chicken, waffle-fries, free helping to 30989857 different sauces and milkshake. Oh heavens, the milkshake....simply o-r-g-a-z-m-e-e-kk

Highlight #3: Speaking of orgasmic, and although I'm NOT a porn maniac I must say, the porn documentary channel sure was eye-opening, with girls and apes, girls and old men, floury fat girl and man, man and girl who is still a man, gay straight man, and all other flora and fauna you can imagine - you know, 253 difference species in a single rain forest type variety.

Highlight #4: Meeting Jay and Jeannie Conrad Lavinson. They are the cutest pair. He's crinkly, with gentle eyes and bad-boy remnants, and she's a big girl, with 8 kids and the energy level of a lightening bolt. Goofy memory tests, singing and guitar, ribs and majito and the killer highlight: Pot with Jay. I'm so going to engrave that on my tombstone. "Here lies Lin, who SMOKED POT WITH JAY YO MA'FUCKER TAKE THAT!!! Rest in peace."

Highlight #5: We got free tix to a day pass to ALL THE DISNEY ATTRACTIONS. That saved us a jolly good $500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring on the roller coasters!!!!

We'll have pictures 2moro!, Til then.
Over and out.

Of burnt cheeks and increasing methane levels

Everyone remembers New Zealand from those FernLeaf kid's milk advertisements - green rolling hills, bright blue skies, strolling cows and more cows and cows and cows and the beginning of a series of sheep you didnt' catch in the neighboring pen because its an advertisement for cow's milk.
New Zealand has more cows and sheep as their population than human beings.
Which also explains why 50 percent of its greenhouse gas emissions arise from methane released by enteric fermentation. Did you know that sheep and cow burp? Yea well, they do. So the next time your boyfriend burps in the open, thank God he's not releasing a whole spew of methane that brings along global warming with it.

And there was where i spent my last 2 weeks.
Amongst cows, sheep and boys - with the thing in common being the raising methane levels.

To make matters more complicated, NZ on a sunny day was cloudless, glaring, and yet bone-chilling when the winds blew. That equates to sun-burnt noses on 1 end, and shivering butts on the other.

Welcome to the South Island of New Zealand - the one right below the North one.

Success Secrets

I've gotten my hands involved in co-authoring a book.

A book! I hardly read books.
I collect books that have nice covers!

The whole point of the book is to showcase what it takes for particular individuals to be at the top of their game. It's like, if you had a 1 hr lunch with a well-known producer director, or dancer, or photographer, or politician, what are the questions you'd ask that could really make a difference to you?

I've realized several similar factors between all the 'successful' individuals that I've met with.

I won't tell, at least yet!

I'll save it for our website and blog before revealing some of the secrets, so stay tuned or be doomed to a life of no-success because you didn't listen to or read, the FAQ BOOK on SUCCESS...

the brink

That fact that I have been blogging more frequently at night only points to the inevitable fact that my days have merged into nights, and in the wee lonely hours of my office I sit hunched over my lappy.

This morning is a morning of no inspiration.
Nil, absolutely.

I've been staring at my screen for the longest time, eager to pounce on some marketing work, and for the last 2 hours achieved the commendable task of rearranging 2 speech bubbles over and over again, before the program jams, and I restart it and shuffle the speech bubbles around again, and it jams, and I restart and continue with my compulsive obsession over these 2 stupid splotches of emptiness.

CrankySmanky

I was moping around earlier, and found myself conveniently next to the loo hole. I started to miss fondly the slightly more spacious loo back at The Tanamera. Plus, that loo had a really good 12th story view, and when I felt like it, there was a neat little ledge I could squeeze my small tight ass to perch on and contemplate deeply on life's eccentricities, while wondering (at the same time mind you - that's what your right left brain is for isn't it) how loud a crash I'd make if I toppled over onto the Guard post just below.

I don't quite like my shophouse loo.
Its dingy, a weak awful green (or issit blue? One of those senseless debates you can busy yourself with while on the stinker), and just absolutely no space to stretch your long shaven legs.

I'm cranky.
I effectively have 11 people's bu**shit to deal with,
I haven't slept in the last 2 nights,
I don't have a thrilling enough social life,
Singapore roads have a speed limit of 90,

and I just found out I have to resubmit my bloody coaching exam coach demo clip.

WHERE'S MY CHOCOLATE?!!?!!

My Night with a Date

If you would've known by now, the tittle of this blog is downright misleading.
Anyone telepatic enough would know that the last time I went out on a date was also the last time I shaved.
So I'm sitting here, next to the last shrivel of a date, listening to Divinyls croon about how she touches herself, at 3.30am in Office.

I don't know how I ended myself up in this situation.
Neither do I know why I decided to blog about it. Honestly of all the significant things I've done in my life (like take part in a Beer-drinking competition, or stick panty-liners on the backs of innocent passer-bys), tonight doesn't even come close to anything fun or almighty.

The last time I felt a thrill of any sort was when I almost crashed into a truck at a junction while talking the the phone. But that'only lasted a split second.

Sure, running a business is fun.
Leadership and recognition has its perks,

But that means no more whining.
Or frolicking naked in the rain.
Or watching my parents freak at my piercings in indecent areas.
Or wearing panties on my head and fooling around.
Or mooning people in cars.
Or making out with random (hot) strangers.
Or waking up at 7pm for breakfast.
Or diva shopping days.
Or acting like a kid.
Or being a kid.
Or breaking out in spastic cuss words in restaurants.
Or being grumpy.
Or drug-induced sprees.
Or shocking pink hair and stockings.
Or shameless flirting and groping.
Or long meaningless tans.
Or complete abandonment.
Or repeated replies of 'I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know'
Or long boring dates.
Or long boring relationships.
Or crazy halloween nights.
Or obsessive game playing
Or obsessive crushing.
Or gossiping.
Or conversations that revolve around me and no one else.

I'm 23 and spunky, with a bright future, and singing along to 911 into an empty bottle listening to my voice vibrate against plastic.

I think I'll indulge in that date right about now.

I tried to go on like I never knew you
I'm awake but my world is half asleep
I pray for this heart to be unbroken
But without you all I'm going to be is, incomplete

Voices tell me I should carry on
But I am swimming in an ocean all alone
Baby, my baby
It's written on your face
You still wonder if we made a big mistake

The day you see me get mushy and resort to replaying backstreet boys songs and quoting them.

But,
You still haunt me in my dreams, and there isnt a day that goes by without me trying not to think of you.
